The Story behind MILA
Since I was a child, I've always had a deep love for flowers. Growing up in a small town in central Cuba, every evening I'd come home with a bouquet of wildflowers I had gathered along the way. My grandmothers would lovingly place them in a glass or a coffee cup filled with water, and it became our cherished tradition.
Last year, I got married and found myself unexpectedly in charge of all the floral arrangements. With the help of dear friends—Giselle, Ricardo, Adelisa, and Raul—and the unwavering support of my family and husband, we transformed the space with white roses, eucalyptus, white lilies, and baby's breath. It was a beautiful and humbling experience that made me realize everything happens for a reason. It was my calling to immerse myself in this world I adore, filled with both passion and a touch of fear.
Professionally, I’m a graphic designer, having graduated from the University of Havana in 2013. My love for design, colors, and symmetry naturally extends to floral design, bridging my creative spirit with this newfound passion.
This dream is inspired by the little girl who remembers her grandmothers' joy in receiving flowers. That's why I named my business MILA, a tribute to "Mima and Lala" in their honor. Wherever they are, I ask for their blessings as I embark on this beautiful journey.
“From start to finish, working with Ana was pleasant and stress-free. The florals for the birthday were perfect and beyond what we could have imagined.”
